The American Red Cross in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a part-time Blood Component Manufacturing Technician (Union). In this role you will manufacture blood products and samples, process units into transfusable components, and ensure accurate documentation while meeting quality and production goals.
You will operate lab equipment, manage inventory, perform data entry, and collaborate with internal teams. Training is provided; weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

In this role, you will be manufacturing blood products and samples. You will be processing blood products after the units have been received from the donors. This will involve scanning in the units of blood, processing the units into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, and expressing plasma) and leukoreducing.
As a Red Cross Team member, you will take care of your team members - show up for every shift and give 100% while you're there. Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times.
Part Time; 3 days one week, 4 days the next week. ( Friday - Monday one week, and Saturday - Monday the next .)
Training: First 4- week of employment; Monday- Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm. This is paid training at the standard hourly rate. Training is full time for 4 weeks.
Pay Information $21.22 hourly rate plus shift differential pay will be added to hours worked after 3:00 pm during the week and all hours worked on the weekend. ($2.00-$3.50 more per hour)
Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time. May be required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, etc.
