Blood Bank Validation – Senior Clinical Consultant

Overview

We are seeking experienced Blood Bank Validation Senior Clinical Consultants to support a short-term project focused on blood bank validation, testing, and documentation efforts. This is an immediate need with an initial projected duration of 3–6 months, driven by a backlog of work requiring additional specialized support. Multiple resources may be needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and assist with documentation for blood establishment computer software (BECS) validations
• Perform and evaluate clinical review of database design and build, providing recommendations as needed
• Conduct regulatory review and risk analysis
• Execute manual, exploratory, and automated test scripts
• Log, track, troubleshoot, and escape issues identified during testing
• Maintain complete testing evidence for each test as proof of validation
• Perform quality assurance audits of validation documentation
• Design complex validation test scripts in accordance with standard blood banking practices and regulatory requirements
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships to achieve targeted outcomes
• Influence workflow design strategy
• Mentor and train newer team members in the testing community
• Design and write complex multi-workflow test scripts

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Transfusion Medicine / Blood Bank experience
• Experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting
