Job summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) at UCSF provides transfusion medicine support across a large academic medical center. Under supervision, the CLS performs serologic testing, compatibility testing, transfusion reaction investigations, QC, and troubleshooting to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a laboratory science.
• California CLS license or Immunohematology license.
• Recent experience performing clinical lab testing in Transfusion Service.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests using manual and automated methods within procedures and timelines.
• Enter results and interpretations in LIS accurately.
• Maintain documentation and QA records; participate in QC and regulatory activities.
