Walter-L.-Shepeard-Comm in Augusta, GA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join the Technical Services team. Under the Director of Technical Services, you will prepare blood components and perform laboratory testing per FDA and AABB guidelines to ensure safe components for patient use.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science with CLS certification and may involve weekend/holiday shifts in a hospital lab environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related science with certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Blood banking experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Perform testing per SOPs in line with FDA and AABB guidelines.
• Label and deliver blood components to Hospital Services.
• Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
• Meet educational and certification requirements of SCBC and the lab.
• Perform batch release functions before platelet unit labeling in absence of the Director.
• Collaborate with lab and Hospital Services teams to ensure quality service.
• Follow SCBC/department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Willingly perform other duties as assigned.
