About the Role

Our client, a global leader in logistics and supply chain management, is embarking on a transformative journey to integrate blockchain technology into its operations. We are seeking an experienced Blockchain Solutions Architect to design and implement innovative, secure, and scalable blockchain solutions that will revolutionize supply chain visibility, traceability, and efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of both supply chain processes and distributed ledger technologies. You will lead the architectural vision, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and drive the adoption of blockchain across our extensive network. This is a critical role for advancing supply chain innovation in Tembisa, Gauteng and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Develop the architectural blueprint for blockchain solutions tailored to supply chain use cases, including provenance tracking, anti-counterfeiting, and multi-party data sharing. Evaluate and select appropriate blockchain platforms (e.g., Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, R3 Corda) and consensus mechanisms for enterprise-grade supply chain applications. Design smart contracts that automate key business logic and enforce agreed-upon terms between supply chain partners. Collaborate closely with supply chain experts, business analysts, and IT teams to define requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Oversee the development and integration of blockchain solutions with existing ERP, WMS, and other enterprise systems. Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of deployed blockchain networks and applications. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to development teams. Develop and maintain architectural documentation, standards, and best practices for blockchain implementation. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting blockchain in supply chain management.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 4 years focused on blockchain solutions design and implementation. Proven experience in designing and deploying enterprise blockchain solutions, preferably within the supply chain or logistics domain. Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, DLT, smart contracts, and various consensus mechanisms. Familiarity with supply chain processes, challenges, and technologies. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration capabilities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, essential for a role in Tembisa, Gauteng . Ability to lead and inspire technical teams.
