Job summary

Chaney Enterprises is seeking a Plant Labor - Block II in Roanoke, VA to support daily production operations at the block manufacturing facility. You will assist with equipment setup, material preparation, and quality checks to ensure consistent output and compliance with safety standards.

This role requires the ability to read and follow written instructions, communicate with supervision, and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors and indoors.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow written and verbal production instructions.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail to identify product defects and equipment irregularities.
• Effective verbal communication with supervisors and team members.
• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and gripping.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work in outdoor/industrial environments.
• Commitment to complying with all plant safety policies and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and enforces plant safety protocols and company safety programs in compliance with OSHA and other regs.
• Selects and installs the correct mold into production equipment prior to each run.
• Verifies batch formula matches product and moisture content before production.
• Inspects finished products for height, structural integrity, and absence of defects.
• Sets up and prepares production equipment at shift start and changeovers.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and checks oil/grease levels to ensure safe operation.
• Monitors equipment performance and reports malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
• Keeps work area clean and organized, returning tools to storage after use.
• Handles and transports materials safely using proper lifting techniques.
• Completes miscellaneous labor tasks and supports other production activities.
