Job Summary:The Spice Blending Technician (Level 2) is responsible for verifying and combining raw ingredients in industrial mixers to produce custom spice blends according to production schedules. The Level 2 technician demonstrates intermediate-level skills, operating blending equipment, following recipes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring product consistency and safety.Responsibilities:Verify and dump raw ingredients into mixers based on batch cards and operator directionOperate blending and packaging machinery safely and efficientlyRun out blends into appropriate packaging according to specified weightsPerform basic quality checks, including visual inspection and product labelingMonitor blending processes to ensure consistency in flavor, aroma, and textureFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety guidelines (HACCP, BRC)Clean and sanitize blending equipment and work areas to meet food safety standardsAssist in quality control by sampling and checking blends against specificationsAccurately complete production records, batch reports, and inventory logsMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of blending equipment, tools, and work areasSupport Level 1 technicians by providing guidance and troubleshooting basic issuesEnsure safe handling of allergens and cross-contamination preventionParticipate in continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce wasteSupport team members in meeting daily production goalsOther duties as assignedHigh school diploma or equivalent required.1-2 years of experience in food manufacturing, spice processing or related manufacturing, preferred.Ability to read and follow written instructions, batch sheets, recipes, and safety guidelines.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to product quality.Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and recording data.Physically able to lift up to 75lbs and stand for extended periods.Training in HACCP, GMP, or food safety preferred.Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production and QA teams.Knowledge of spice characteristics, blending methods, and ingredient handling.Understanding food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.Basic mechanical skills for operating and adjusting blending equipment.Must be able to read and write English.Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty and contains spices with high heat intensity and allergens.Withstand working in cold and hot temperatures for long periods of timeAble to work occasional overtime and weekends as neededRequires use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, goggles, or hearing protection.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and production targets.
