Job Overview
The Blending Technician will execute the delivery of daily blend requirements according to production schedules through the manufacturing of syrup batches from raw materials including water, sugar, and concentrate in compliance with company quality assurance specification requirements. This role will maintain blending and product transfer equipment sanitation requirements to ensure system‑wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards; receive concentrate and raw ingredients purchase orders for the facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute the delivery of the daily blend requirements according to production schedules, manufacturing syrup batches from raw materials (water, sugar, concentrate), and ensure adherence to quality assurance specifications.
- Maintain blending equipment (mixes and syrup tanks) sanitation requirements to ensure system‑wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards.
- Carry out the receipt of concentrate and sugar shipments in the inventory management system.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Maintain testing, sanitation, and equipment calibration records and results, and input concentrate and sugar receipts through data entry into the Lab Data Management System (LDMS).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Understanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices preferred.
- Basic math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiar with high‑pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC) technology preferred.
- Basic microbial knowledge and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to multitask.
- Basic computer skills and hands‑on experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs unless specified otherwise by a CBA.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on Microsoft Excel experience.
- Manufacturing experience.
Work Environment
Noisy, wet, and extreme temperature environment.
