Job summary

Compact Industries, Inc. in St. Charles, IL is hiring for a full-time blend operator on 1st shift (5:00 AM to 3:00 PM). The role involves weighing, blending, and preparing formulas, while maintaining 5S standards and safety compliance.

You will lead the blending process, train new associates, and coordinate with quality and packaging to ensure batches meet specifications. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs; stand for 98% of the shift.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and batch documentation is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand the daily blending schedule and shift expectations.
• Verify equipment is in good working order; complete inspection forms as necessary.
• Weigh, stage, blend, or dump formulas according to the schedule.
• Verify ingredients and quantities align with batch formulas and are added in the proper sequence.
• Ensure the correct tools are used per color code policy.
• Operate a pallet jack to transport material or hoppers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
• Complete all necessary forms in SafetyChain.
• Provide samples to quality as needed.
• Lead the blending process and guide team members at blenders.
• Follow safety and GMP regulations.
• Communicate via radio and face-to-face about material needs and process progression.
• Use RF scanner to transfer materials to jobs, hoppers, or packaging lines.
• Complete batch documentation and coordinate with packaging and quality as needed.
• Ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner.
• Assist and direct other team members; train new associates.
• Participate in inventory counts and other assignments as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Job Shift: 1st Shift 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and understand the daily blending schedule and shift expectations.


• Verify that the equipment being used is in good working order. Complete inspection forms as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.


• Stand or walk 98% of the shift.


• Bending, twisting, stooping motions 80% of time


• Basic knowledge of an RF scanner is a plus.


• Ability to calculate simple mathematical figures and understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.


• Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.


• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


• Experience in manufacturing or food environment is a plus.
