Part-Time Faculty – Ecology
Blended Remote/Online (This is a Virtual Position)

Bryant & Stratton College Online Education is seeking Part-Time instructors to teach Ecology courses in a blended remote and online format. Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in Ecology or a related Natural Science. Prior remote teaching experience is preferred.

Reports To: Dean/Faculty Administrator

Location: Remote (Orchard Park, NY)

Adjunct instructors will support the college mission by facilitating active virtual classrooms using various delivery methods. They will maintain current knowledge in their discipline and participate in departmental and college activities to support student success and the Online Education team.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare courses in Blackboard with required elements by deadlines.
2. Facilitate weekly remote sessions via Teams, approximately 10-12 hours of instruction per week, including grading and student engagement.
3. Respond to student and colleague inquiries within 48 hours.
4. Apply the Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education, evaluated through observations.
5. Maintain and update the grade book weekly.
6. Provide detailed feedback on student work.
7. Meet grading deadlines and ensure timely communication.
8. Utilize retention tools and active learning strategies.
9. Follow college policies on academic integrity and accommodations.

Administrative Requirements:

• Engage in professional development and college initiatives.
• Attend faculty meetings and adhere to policies.
• Limit teaching hours to 14 per semester.
• Demonstrate professionalism and maintain current credentials.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree (PhD preferred)
• At least 3 years college teaching experience, remote teaching preferred
• Expertise in ecology or related fields
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with relevant technologies

Physical Demands and Environment:

• Sitting/standing, light lifting, computer use, communication skills required.
