Job description

This position is based in and serves the Greater Chicago and Champaign, IL area.

As a Blended Practice Area Consultant, you will engage with customers in law firms and schools to create preferences and active users. Your responsibilities include assessing customer needs, developing firm-specific and school-specific business plans, and educating customers. You will also collaborate internally to maximize contract renewals by ensuring customers receive value from our products.

Responsibilities

  1. Utilize consultative sales techniques to increase active users and win preferences with law firms and law schools.
  2. Communicate credibly with law firms and schools to understand their challenges and improve their business in innovative ways.
  3. Listen to law firm customers and respond with product solutions and research paths to enhance their work-life balance.
  4. Develop strategic account plans, identify sales opportunities, target specific sales activities, and analyze competitor threats.
  5. Partner with law firm client managers to overcome customer challenges and position them to close significant opportunities.
  6. Deliver specialized customer presentations that communicate our value proposition and differentiators to create new active users.
  7. Implement marketing strategies to position LexisNexis as the preferred source for meeting partners' needs.
  8. Target, hire, and manage hourly student workers to assist in achieving goals at law schools.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Juris Doctor degree; State Bar membership is preferred.
  2. Have legal practice, training, or sales experience.
  3. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Experience in developing and executing account plans and coordinating stakeholders to positively impact clients.
  5. Exhibit strong networking capabilities along with professionalism, business maturity, and technical knowledge.
  6. Willingness to travel up to 50% based on client and business needs.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  8. Capable of working collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals.
