Job summary

Essex Solutions in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Chemical Formulator to join our processing team. The role involves using all tools and equipment to prepare and process products at the Chemical Processing Plant, while ensuring quality, safety, and timely production.

Responsibilities include packaging, staging, inventory maintenance, and data entry for reports. The position requires physical work, flexibility in shifts, and teamwork with supervisors and peers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience using mobile equipment is strongly preferred.

  • Be available for various shifts and overtime in a continuous manufacturing environment.

The team at our Chemical Processing Center blend, package, and ship materials used at our manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada, and Mexico and are in search of a Chemical Formulator to join their team!


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Use all tools and equipment in the preparation of and processes of manufacturing products produced at the Chemical Processing Plant.

  • Follow all procedures, methods and guidelines to assure quality, safety and production goals are met.

  • Prepares orders for shipment, fills containers and stages product for shipment (assisting loadmasters as needed).

  • Maintain storage and inventory areas.

  • Keeps work areas neat, clean and organized; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the facility and grounds of the Chemical Processing Plant.

  • Assist others in all areas needed including supervisors, peers, and less experienced employees.

  • Lifts and carries up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Reads and understands instructions and specifications; uses computers as needed.

  • Monitors & controls the manufacturing processes utilizing monitoring equipment.

  • Enters records or writes up data for company reports.

  • Communicates effectively with supervisors and co-workers to give and receive information while maintaining positive working relationships.

  • Be available for various shifts and overtime in a continuous manufacturing environment.


Skills And Abilities Required


  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse groups.

  • Must be a team-focused individual as exhibited in actions and approach to engaging multiple groups (internal and external) interacting with this position.

  • Must be flexible in a dynamic environment to change practices or procedures in order to deliver optimum performance (when directed). Highest level of accountability is required.

  • Must be able to apply math skills to calculate weights and measures.

  • Must be able to work in a hot or cold environment. Must be able to wear appropriated Personal Protective Equipment including hearing protection and respiratory protection

  • Processes organizing and coordinating skills. Strong attention to detail, sound business judgment and strong planning and organization skills required.

  • Above average physical coordination and mechanical skills, able to operate machinery controls, cranes, material handling equipment and drive forklift truck.

  • The position is physical in nature requiring the ability to kneel, twist, turn, bend, stoop, reach, grip, grasp, stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, lift, and carry.

  • The position requires the ability to distinguish shades and colors to distinguish product quality.


Education And Experience


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments.

  • Experience using mobile equipment is strongly preferred.
