The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule and requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, maintaining paperwork accuracy, and keeping a clean, safe work station.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to prioritize when supervisor is not available.
• Read and interpret work operation sheets to determine appropriate operation.
• Good math and computer skills including knowledge of Workstation Driver.
• Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate blasting equipment, including plastic bead blasting and magnifiers, to ensure products are free of burrs and defects.
• Check orders in Blasting for paperwork accuracy; verify count and move to next location.
• Follow urgent jobs through finishing to guarantee delivery.
• Maintain a clean work station and safe work area.
• Run production according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Use work-in-process sheets and complete scrap tickets as necessary.
• Use Exacto knives to trim burrs missed during blasting or re-shot as needed.
• Report key job status to Departmental Supervisor/Manager.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Blast Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing all Blast operations (blasting product, masking product prior to blast, blast machine media handling) required for medical instruments.

This position will be assigned to a 3rd shift schedule.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate all blasting equipment including plastic bead blasting and magnifiers to make sure that all product is free of metal shavings/burrs.
• Check complete orders in Blasting for paperwork accuracy, verify count and move to next location
• Follow urgent needs jobs through the finishing shop to guarantee delivery
• Maintain a clean work station
• Runs production in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Utilize the work in process sheets and complete scrap tickets as necessary
• Use Exacto knives to remove any burrs that are missed in blasting or re-blast as needed
• Reports key job status to Departmental Supervisor/Manager
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.
