Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking an on-site abrasive/UHP blast and coatings technician in the Broussard, LA area. The role involves blasting and painting decks, piping, and structures offshore, with a focus on coatings applications, surface prep, and safety compliance.

Strong teamwork and customer communication are essential as you support projects across the process industries. Candidates should be willing to work in remote locations for extended periods and meet offshore safety expectations.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Willing and able to obtain a TWIC in the future if required.
• Experience with offshore abrasive/UHP blast and coatings on decks, piping, structural steel, vessels, tanks.
• Familiar with operating safety procedures for spray units and pumps.
• Familiar with cable rigging systems and safety procedures.
• Strong team and customer service skills.
• Basic offshore safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Abrasive/UHP blast and paint/coatings to decks, piping, structural steel, vessels, tanks (internal/external).
• Demonstrate working knowledge of coatings applications and surface prep methods.
• Exemplify working knowledge of cable rigging systems, and spiders.
• Operate various power tools in accordance with company safety policies.
• Prepare, operate and inspect blast pots and spray pots and pumps.
• Ensure enough onsite material is staged for the day’s operation.
• Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Adjust to work-related demands.
• Demonstrate willingness for continuous self-improvement.
• Demonstrate conscientiousness and dependability to produce quality results.
• Recognize company goals and maintain safety culture.
• Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers.
• Other related duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Legally authorized to work in the job posted Country.
• Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) in the future if required for unit assignment. Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/twic.
• Previous offshoreabrasive/UHP blast and paint/coatings ondecks, piping, structural steel, vessels, tanks (internal/external).
• Familiar with the operating and safety procedures for plural component spray units, airless spray pumps and conventional spray pots.
• Familiar with the operating and safety procedures of cable rigging systems, spiders, etc.
• Strong team and customer service.
• A basic working knowledge of offshore safety guidelines

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Climbing, stooping, bending, balancing,reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator or blast hood for extended periods.
• May be required to work in extremely tight spaces or on elevated/suspendedplatforms.
• Must be willing to work in remote locations for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds often and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
