Job summary

Calgon Carbon Corporation is hiring for a Blaster at the Pittsburgh, PA equipment and assembly facility. The role offers hands-on work in an industrial setting focused on quality, safety, and precision. Starting pay is $24.38/hr with a structured wage progression and a $500 new-hire retention bonus.

A $3.00/hr shift differential applies to qualifying shifts, with excellent benefits starting Day 1. The Blaster will perform blasting, surface prep, coating application, inspections, documentation,

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in general labor required.
• Sand Blasting experience preferred.
• Experience with shift work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting on small tanks and piping to meet SSPC standards.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and coating through cleaning, wiping, taping, and masking.
• Mix and apply paints and linings per specifications.
• Inspect surface prep and coating for quality and defects, repair as needed.
• Document inspection results and monitor conditions and coating thickness with gauges.
• Operate forklifts and assist with blasting, painting and related tasks.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and company procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform abrasive blasting on small tanks and piping systems to meet SSPC surface cleanliness and profile requirements
• Prepare equipment and surfaces for painting and coating through cleaning, solvent wiping, taping, and masking
• Mix and apply paints and linings in accordance with manufacturer specifications and application requirements
• Inspect surface preparation and coating applications for quality, compliance and defects, making repairs as needed
• Document inspection results, monitor ambient conditions, and verify coating thickness and surface profiles using required gauges and tools
• Operate forklifts and assist with blasting, painting, and other production-related tasks as required
• Maintain compliance with company safety procedures, policies, and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of experience general labor
• Less than High school education
• Sand Blasting (preferred)
• Schedule Rotating shift operation (details reviewed during the screening process)
• Overtime opportunities as business needs require

Pay, Bonus & Benefits
