What You’ll Do
As the Blaster, you will design, layout, prepare, and detonate blasts with correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective use of explosives to meet customer and business requirements. Lead the blast crew and provide on-the-job training to Blasters in Training positions. Other duties include:
- Lead blast crew with accountability for all aspects of blast including safety, layout, preparation, and detonation according to business and customer requirements.
- Operate and direct work consistent with company policies and procedures, technical modules, DNA Surface Blasting SOP, work site, regulatory, and safety policies.
- Use and implement DN products, product applications, competitor’s products, blasting practices, and mining/quarry principles.
- Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
- Participate in local Incident Review Boards.
- Manage and complete Electronic Blasting Reports, inventory records, and other documentation.
- Use LAZER system to ensure accurate inventory and use of products.
- Design blast patterns to deliver accurate and efficient outcomes based on customer and business needs.
- Investigate product complaints and poor-performing blasts; escalate support as needed; report findings and share results for continuous education.
- Promote Zero Harm by observing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and using equipment properly.
- Support regional development of expertise in Value-In-Use products and blasting technology.
- Assist regional and corporate teams to increase market position and revenue, supporting EBIT objectives.
- Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers to meet objectives and add value.
- Respond professionally and promptly to problems and requests.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3+ years of related explosives industry experience.
- 1+ year of progressively responsible professional or technical experience.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Willingness to undergo and pass an ATF background check for explosives possession.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, team player.
