What You'll Do

As a Blaster, you will design, layout, prepare, and detonate blasts using correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective explosives to meet customer and business requirements. You will lead the blast crew and provide on-the-job training to Blasters in Training. Other duties include:

  • Lead blast crew, overseeing all aspects of blasting including safety, layout, preparation, and detonation according to business and customer requirements.
  • Operate and direct work in compliance with company policies, SOPs, work site, regulatory, and safety policies.
  • Use and implement DN products, applications, competitor products, blasting practices, and mining/quarry principles.
  • Understand and improve service requirements to enhance customer profitability.
  • Participate in local Incident Review Boards.
  • Manage and complete electronic blasting reports, inventory records, and other documentation.
  • Use LAZER system for accurate inventory and product usage.
  • Design blast patterns to deliver accurate and efficient outcomes based on requirements.
  • Investigate product complaints and poor-performing blasts, escalating issues as needed, and sharing findings to support continuous improvement.
  • Promote Zero Harm by observing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and using equipment properly.
  • Support regional development of expertise in Value-In-Use products, electronic detonators, emulsions, and blasting technology.
  • Assist in increasing market position and revenue through customer relationships and sales efforts.
  • Develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet objectives and add value.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to business requests and issues.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of related explosives industry experience.
  • 1+ year of increasing professional or technical responsibility.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Willingness to undergo and pass an ATF background check.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, team player.
