Teamind is hiring for an abrasive blasting role in Kaukauna, WI. The position involves preparing substrates on piping, tanks, and structures for coating by pressure blasting, and requires attention to safety and accuracy in handling materials.

Responsibilities include blasting, masking, light equipment maintenance, and completing paperwork. Training may be provided for forklift and crane operation, with emphasis on teamwork and reliable performance in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting of pipe, structural steel, and machined parts.

• Light maintenance of blast equipment.
• Fill out necessary paperwork for each piece, keeping it with the material as it goes from blast to paint.
• Upkeep of helmet, cape, and belts used.
• Keep finished material organized in the prep area.
• Ability to be trained on forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor.
• Follow safety procedures and discuss unsafe situations with supervisor.

This location is in Kaukauna, WI relocation, or daily commute required.

Pay Range: Based on experience

Shift: 1st (6:00AM-4:30PM, Monday- Thursday, 10 hours)

Job Description

Prepares substrate surfaces on fabricated metal piping, tanks, and other structures for coating by pressure blasting.

Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties

• Abrasive blasting of pipe, structural steel, and machined parts
• Masking/taping and capping of pipe spools
• Light maintenance of blast equipment
• Fill out necessary paperwork for each piece, making sure it stays with the material as it goes from blast to paint
• Upkeep of helmet, cape, and belts as they are used
• Keep finished material organized in the prep area
• Ability to be trained on a forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Cleaning and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE’s).
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
• Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or up to one-month experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine paperwork.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
