Position Location: 16875 W Ryerson Rd., New Berlin, WI 53151

Position Hours: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday

Position Wage: $18 - $25.85 per hour

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description

The Blast Operator is responsible for ensuring the blasting/Load Make-Up cell is running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities will include working in several different production areas and being adaptable to fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Inspecting equipment throughout the shop and promptly reporting any concerns to the shift supervisions will be crucial as well.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable in and enforce racking and loading procedures, tagging procedure, and lot control procedures
• Safe and efficient operations of all production equipment
• Prioritize processing based on schedule
• Perform inspection using correct methods
• Document and report any maintenance issues to shift foreman
• Monitor and program all furnaces to process correct parameters
• Understand the processing of all material within production areas
• Ensure plant organization and cleanliness

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (citizen or national of the U.S., lawful permanent resident, non-resident authorized to work without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
• This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident or a protected individual. Employment of Foreign Persons will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
• All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test and background check.
• May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions
• Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
• Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Prior factory work, blasting, or heat-treating experience preferred
