Job summary

Dyno Nobel, Inc. is seeking a Blast Crew Helper to operate auxiliary equipment and assist blast crews in loading, mixing, unloading, and preparing explosive products for customers. The role requires reporting on equipment use, ensuring safe operations, and supporting safety programs on site.

Starting pay is $19 per hour with shifts starting between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM and lasting 10–12 hours. Candidates should be able to work a flexible schedule and pass ATF background checks as required for

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work early mornings and 10–12 hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Prior manual labor experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to undergo ATF background check for explosives possession.

Responsibilities

  • Operate auxiliary equipment and assist operators in maintenance of site equipment.
  • Load, mix, unload, and prepare explosive products for customers.
  • Report pre- and post-use equipment reports and maintenance needs.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions on site and at blast sites.
  • Support safety programs and participate in safety meetings.

Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • Shifts typically begin between 4:00 AM - 8:00 AM with an expected duration of 10 to 12 hours.
What You'll Do

As member of our Blast Crew you will operate auxiliary equipment and assist equipment operators in the maintenance of site all equipment and the loading, mixing, unloading, and preparation of explosive products for the customer. Available as a Blast Crew Helper reporting to Blaster in Charge when dispatched to a customer site. Other duties will include:

  • Proactively manage risks and safety issues and practice Take 5! process
  • Operate auxiliary equipment in support of equipment operators, including forklifts, winches, and hand tools to provide timely, safe, and high‑quality product and service to the customer.
  • Complete and report pre and post use reports for all equipment that is operated.
  • Report required maintenance of any equipment required to assure its reliability and safe operation.
  • Assist Equipment Operators and Blasters at blast site to safely serve the customer.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in shop, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Maintain safe working procedures at any site that you are dispatched to.
  • Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Support the implementation of all policies improving the quality of blasting services and limiting liability exposure related to the blast event.
  • Familiarize and comply with appropriate areas of the HSE Management System, Safe Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Proactively support Safety programs by participating in training and safety meetings.
What We're Looking For
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work early mornings (Start time expected to be between 4 AM - 8 AM) and 10 - 12 hour shifts
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule - will be determined by site and customer needs
  • Prior manual labor experience preferred
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and be flexible on several projects simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
