Job Description

Next Level Staffing is currently recruiting for a client located in Hartland.

Hours: 2pm-10pm; Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

1. Set up and operate Blanchard grinding machines with vertical spindle and rotating table to grind flat surfaces of metal workpieces, such as steel plates, fabrications, castings, and machine parts, usually for limited runs. Analyze specifications and select segments (tooling) according to knowledge of grinding procedures, studying blueprints to visualize the grinding to be done and planning the sequence of operations.
2. Position and secure workpieces on magnetic chucks, holding fixtures, or directly on the machine table.
3. Select grinding segments, speeds, and feed rates for each operation based on knowledge of metal properties and abrasives, and mount segments on the chuck.
4. Verify dimensions of ground workpieces for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to perform close tolerance work
• Experience with setups, wheel changeover, and wheel dressing
• Willing to work overtime
• Experience with close tolerance production grinding on Blanchard grinding machines
