GE Vernova is seeking a Blader / Turbine Mechanic to perform inspection, repair and installation of blades on rotating equipment in the service repairs workshop. The role requires reading blueprints, precision measurements and mechanical assembly work.
Work is on-site at the Richmond, VA repair center with potential overtime and weekend shifts. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED (or trade schooling) and experience with calipers and micrometers.
The Blader / Turbine Mechanic will be responsible for all duties associated with the inspection, repair, replacement, installation, adjustment, removal and maintenance of blades for a variety of rotating equipment in the service repairs workshop.
As the Blader / Turbine Mechanic, you will: Perform the removal and installation of a variety of blades on all rotating equipment following established procedures and blue prints; Fit, install and / or modify to close tolerance blades, steam seals, locking keys, assemblies, and turning gears; Prepare blades for installation, including sandblasting, cleaning, etc.; Perform such duties as shrouding and peening, seal removal and installation, satellite installation, and drilling and fabrication of locks to complete blade assembly Set-up completed turbines for rotational testing; Design and fabricate parts, as required
High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent OR 2 years of relevant work experience Minimum of 2 years of experience applying mechanical principles in the repair, maintenance and installation of various types of mechanical equipment OR 1 year of technical experience with a Trade School Degree from an accredited college, university or trade school Experience in reading blueprints and drawings Calipers and micrometers experience required
3-week rotating shift: 1st (7am - 3:30pm) & 2nd Shift (5pm-1:30am EST - shift differential rate applies) Ability and willingness to work possible weekends and overtime Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future. Accomplished skills in a trade with experience on Power Generating Equipment Experience using precision measurement tools Basic computer skills
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is will be (C-level range) $22.00 - 27.00/hour for early career hires and for (B-Level Range) $27.50 - $32.75. This position is also eligible for a $2.00/hour shift differential hourly rate increase.
