Job summary

Fresh Express is seeking a Blade Technician to safely maintain and repair processing, packaging and facility equipment within a food processing environment. You will perform inspections, document activities, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality systems.

The role requires standing, lifting, and working in cold, wet conditions, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Prior CMMS experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Summary

Blade Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, inspecting and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to stand on cement, reach with hands and arms and stoop over 2/3 of the time.
• The employee may often be subject to lifting up to 75 pounds.
• The employee should have good vision (close distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus).
• Familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items. Maintain communication with other departments and employees as to notify them of any problems and concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and other requirements.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.
• Responsible for food safety and food quality related to designated area.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position Education & Training Preferred
