Blackstone Credit & Insurance - Liquid Credit Strategies, CLO Investment Associate

Our investments span the credit markets, including private investment grade, asset based lending, public investment grade and high yield, sustainable resources, infrastructure debt, collateralized loan obligations, direct lending and opportunistic credit. The Liquid Credit Strategies Team (“LCS”) manages $114 in AUM across diversified portfolios of fixed income investments, primarily consisting of senior secured floating rate bank loans and high yield bonds of non-investment grade companies. The group manages and sub-advises funds accounts in the US and Europe, including Collateralized Loan Obligations, Separately Managed Accounts, Commingled Funds, Closed End Funds and Business Development Companies. LCS also invests in the debt and equity tranches of CLOs.

Job Title: Associate

Job Description: The Associate will be part of the CLO Investment team and responsible for assisting with all of the portfolio management functions. This is a great opportunity to be a part of large buy-side CLO Investment Manager. The Associate will also benefit from working in tandem with the CLO Management and Structuring teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to execute and monitor overall portfolio strategy and positioning, including by reporting on all portfolios
  • Assisting team members in generating trade ideas and investment rationales across multiple strategies
  • Ongoing surveillance of market color / deal pipelines via direct contact with dealers/arrangers
  • Performing regular manager due diligence meetings and calls
  • Assisting with all daily investment activities, including reporting, cash management, performance monitoring and trading

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of Portfolio management, trading, research, or structuring experience in CLOs
  • Strong technical skills – must be highly proficient in Excel
  • Additional programming experience, specifically Python/databases, a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hardworking, detail oriented and prepared to work in a dynamic environment
  • Must have a desire to learn and grow in the role
  • Minimum required education: Bachelor's Degree

Expected annual base salary range: $105,000 - $160,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
