Job summary

Edelstahlwerk W. Ossenberg & Cie. GmbH in Germany is seeking a Blacksmith / Production Assistant (m/f/d) for the forge area.

You will process self-produced materials and contract-forged goods into high-quality forged semi-finished products and operate forging units, hammers, open-die forging presses, and manipulators. Candidates should have vocational training in metal processing and ideally experience with forging or metalworking, plus willingness to work shifts.

Qualifications

• Ideally vocational training in metal processing, preferably as a blacksmith or related role.
• Experience with forging presses, manipulators or similar production equipment is desirable.
• Strong technical understanding and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Process self-produced materials and contract-forged goods into high-quality forged semi-finished products.
• Operate and monitor forging units, hammers, open-die presses and manipulators.
• Carry out forging processes professionally according to required process and quality standards.
• Ensure quality and dimensional accuracy of forged semi-finished products.
• Identify deviations in the forging process and take corrective measures.
• Support optimisation of workflows and forging processes.

• In the team, you process our self-produced materials and contract-forged goods into high-quality forged semi-finished products.
• You operate and monitor our forging units, forging hammers, open-die forging presses, and manipulators.

• You ensure the required quality and dimensional accuracy of the manufactured forged semi-finished products.

Your profile:

• Ideally, vocational training in the metal processing sector, preferably as a blacksmith, industrial mechanic, structural metal fabricator, or in a comparable occupation.
• Ideally, professional experience in free-form forging or the metalworking industry would be advantageous.
• Experience with forging presses, manipulators and comparable production equipment desirable
• Technical understanding and manual dexterity
• Responsible, reliable and diligent working method.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Teamwork and good communication skills.
