Hut 8 is seeking a Bitcoin Mining Strategy Associate to drive strategic growth through market analysis, M&A activities, and strategic investments. You will build financial models, evaluate opportunities, and collaborate with senior leadership to maximize profitability of the mining fleet.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field; MBA preferred.
- 2+ years in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, private equity or related field.
- Direct experience in Bitcoin/mining or energy is encouraged but not required.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clear presentation of complex info.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Exceptional project management abilities with multiple projects.
- Resilient, adaptable and excited by fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead market research to identify trends, dynamics and growth opportunities.
- Develop and present market analyses and strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Create financial models evaluating acquisitions, investments and fleet optimization.
- Conduct due diligence on strategy, financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Identify and execute investment opportunities; produce memoranda and board materials.
- Assist in deal structuring and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and corporate development teams.
- Track performance of the mining fleet and develop dashboards for leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

The Bitcoin Mining Strategy Associate plays a critical role in driving the company’s strategic growth initiatives. This position involves leading complex market analyses, spearheading mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, supporting strategic investments and developing strategic partnerships. The principal collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to identify and execute high‑impact opportunities, perform detailed financial evaluations, and deliver strategic recommendations.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Lead comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics, and potential growth opportunities.
- Develop and present market analyses and strategic insights to senior leadership to inform business strategy.
- Create and manage sophisticated financial models to evaluate the financial implications of potential ASIC acquisitions, strategic investments, operating fleet optimizations and other business opportunities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on strategy, including financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities, from initial screening to integration planning, and through implementation.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, board presentations, and other documentation to support decision‑making processes.
- Recommend operating enhancements with a goal of profit maximization of operating ASIC mining fleet.
- Assist in structuring and negotiating deal terms, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Manage relationships with external parties, including key partners, consultants, and legal counsel, to facilitate transaction processes.
- Partner with internal teams, including finance, legal, operations, and corporate development, to ensure seamless execution and integration of strategic initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between the ASIC Compute Strategy team and other departments to foster collaboration and alignment on strategic goals.
- Track and report on the performance of and strategic decisions for the operating ASIC Mining fleet, providing insights and recommendations for future opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate progress and outcomes to senior management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a related field.
- Direct experience in Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining, or energy are a encouraged but not a requirement.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
