Responsibilities

  • Prepare restaurant for service by arranging condiments, napkins, and utensils.
  • Explain chef specials and identify wines; answer food questions.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen; accommodate dietary needs.
  • Serve meals and beverages; replenish utensils and water.
  • Close dining with proper clearing and bill handling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and assist with related tasks as directed.

Job Overview

As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while maintaining standards and authentically delivering on our Values and Global Service Standards.

Description

As a Server, you’ll be responsible for resident interaction with the dining program for the community. From daily operations of the restaurant and bar, to catering and special events. This is a position for an individual who routinely exercises good judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills. As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while maintaining standards and authentically delivering on our Values and Global Service Standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Must be able to explain the chef's specialties; identify appropriate wines; answer food preparation questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording resident choices; identifying Resident special dietary needs and special requests
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to Resident
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
Skills & Qualifications
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills andis able tointeract and communicate successfully to the residents and team.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent time management skills and multitasking ability.
  • Progressive people management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, navigating the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job function
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
  • Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers.
Schedule

Schedule will vary based on the needs of the community.

What We Offer

As a full-time non-exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, and vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.

Compensation

$16.00 per hour plus 18% auto gratuity.
