Bishop Dwenger FT English Teacher (Fort Wayne, IN)

English Classroom Teacher

A classroom teacher supports student learning, growth, and development through their assigned classes and duties, while supporting and strengthening the mission of Bishop Dwenger High School to develop “Citizens of Two Worlds” who excel in spirituality, service, academics, and active life, upholding the Catholic Faith.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Developing a positive, joyful, welcoming, and supportive classroom environment. Contributing positively to the school environment.
  2. Planning and implementing effective and engaging curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom management for assigned classes, following state standards and diocesan curriculum.
  3. Writing and revising the course curriculum for your assigned courses.
  4. Fulfilling other duties as assigned.
  5. Maintaining professional conduct and adhering to all school and Diocesan policies and procedures.
  6. Collaborating cooperatively with colleagues.
  7. Being an active participant in the high school community.
  8. Embracing the 1:1, blended learning style.

Requirements:

  • Holds a current, valid Indiana Educator License in English or is eligible to obtain a high school licensure in English.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards a Master's degree in English, enabling future options to teach dual credit courses.
  • Being a registered active Catholic is preferred but not required.

Start Date: Contracted for the 2025-2026 school year
