Job summary

Chelsea Piers Connecticut is seeking part-time Birthday Party & Event Staff to help create safe, exciting celebrations for children at our Stamford location. You’ll set up spaces, lead activities, and deliver friendly hospitality to guests during parties and events.

Ideal candidates are dependable, energetic, and comfortable working with kids ages 3–15. Weekend availability is required, with some weekday field trips or special events possible. Training provided, no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in groups preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Energetic, professional, and team-oriented.
• Ability to engage and entertain groups of all ages.
• Must be available to work weekends (Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons).
• Passion for sports is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate fun, age-appropriate activities for children ages 3–15, such as relay races, trampoline dodgeball, rock climbing, and batting cages.
• Monitor events to ensure guest safety, engagement, and enjoyment.
• Clearly communicate safety rules and ensure they’re followed.
• Set up event spaces with decorations, paper goods, party favors, food, and beverages.
• Belay on the rock wall (training and certification provided—no prior experience required).
• Assist guests with directions, carrying belongings, and general inquiries.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or injuries in accordance with safety protocols.

About the Opportunity

Chelsea Piers hosts over 1,000 children’s sports-themed birthday parties, hundreds of field trips, and countless special events each year. We’re looking for part-time Birthday Party & Event Staff Members who are dependable, energetic, and love working with kids.

In this role, you’ll help create safe, exciting, and memorable celebrations by setting up event spaces, leading activities, and delivering outstanding hospitality to our guests. Whether you’re organizing a trampoline dodgeball game, helping on the rock wall, or serving cake, you’ll be part of a team that makes every event unforgettable.

Compensation

$17 per hour

Schedule

Part-Time, about 5-10 hours per week, with more available based on business needs and event volume. Mainly weekends and some daytime or evening hours for one-off field trips or special events.

Though the majority of our Birthday Parties occur on weekends, there may be some opportunities to work field trips during the week, or one-off special events in the evenings.
