Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Birth Assistant for the Birth Center in Voorhees, NJ, to support labor, birth and postpartum care on a per diem basis. The role involves 12-hour night shifts, patient education, and collaboration with the Administrative Director and Birth Center team.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree and RN licensure with 2+ years in labor & delivery; current NRP and BLS are required, ACLS preferred. Benefits are provided for eligible colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in labor & delivery.
• RN licensure, NRP, and BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment to develop, implement and evaluate a care plan.
• Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions.
• Educates patient and family about labor, birth and postpartum processes.
