Job Summary

Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel will perform their duties with constant awareness of their surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area. Maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Basic Functions

• Control entrances and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings and perimeters.
• Escort material and personnel.
• Inspect for security and fire hazards.
• Perform special assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary based on department size, location, and post assignments. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for ADA requirements. General duties include:

• Report to post on time in full uniform.
• Greet customers, visitors, and employees politely and professionally.
• Stay updated on post orders and general information.
• Patrol the property or remain at a fixed post, reporting suspicious activity and investigating incidents.
• Monitor cameras and equipment as per post orders.
• Understand emergency procedures and respond appropriately.
• Complete reports such as Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, and Incident Reports.
• Recommend safety and loss prevention improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and other equipment.
• Ensure all safety and compliance guidelines are met.
• Communicate security issues daily with the Security Supervisor.
