Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Biotechnologist I to support therapeutic protein production in a GMP environment. You will operate production equipment, perform downstream purification processes, and assist with problem solving in a collaborative team setting.

The role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating two-on, two-off, three-on, two-off cycle. A strong attention to detail and good communication are essential to success here.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AS or BS in a science-related field preferred.
• Experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, or regulated production environments preferred.
• Experience with downstream purification processes, chromatography operations, or filtration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing equipment, including purification systems, CIP, and SIP processes.
• Execute downstream manufacturing operations, including chromatography, filtration, and product processing activities.
• Support column packing, viral reduction filtration, and other purification-related operations.
• Perform laboratory tasks such as pH testing, conductivity testing, and product sampling.
• Move and transfer materials across production areas safely and accurately.
• Maintain equipment and facilities through routine cleaning and sanitization.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and support documentation review.
• Participate in shift handovers, team meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
