Job summary

Beck's Hybrids in Atlanta offers a paid internship focused on biotech marker lab research. Interns will work with Beck’s Research Department on corn and soybean projects, with housing provided and a summer project spanning May through August 2027.

Responsibilities include seed preparation, plot planting, data collection, breeding nursery tasks, and molecular lab support, with travel and housing arranged by Beck’s. This is a safety-sensitive internship requiring a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a college student.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Seed Preparation and travel to Beck’s locations (housing provided).
• Plot Planting at Beck’s locations with staff.
• Data Collection of early and mid-season agronomic notes.
• Breeding Nursery: pollinating Beck’s corn breeding nursery.
• Laboratory: assist in molecular marker and/or transformation labs.
• Other duties as required by supervisor.

Job description

This internship will be primarily focused on research in the biotech marker lab at Beck's in Atlanta.

Duration: Paid Internship from May - August 2027.

Housing: Furnished housing or stipend provided.

What to expect: Valuable experience related to the agriculture industry, professional development, summer project, etc.

Purpose and Scope

Interns will be responsible for learning about and assisting with Beck’s Research Department. Interns will have the opportunity to take part in several facets of corn and soybean research including performance testing, corn breeding, molecular markers, transformation, and product development.

Responsibilities

Job Requirements

Education And Training

• Currently enrolled as a college student


• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.


• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Experience

• Agriculture experience preferred
