Job summary

ArentFox Schiff LLP is seeking a patent agent or patent attorney with a minimum of five years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the biotechnology field. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience drafting patent applications directed to in vitro diagnostic assays and familiarity with immunoassays, CRISPR-based assays, nucleic acid sequencing, and related reagents.

This position will be based in San Francisco, Silicon Valley or New York.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in biotechnology.
• Experience drafting patent applications directed to in vitro diagnostic assays; familiarity with immunoassays, CRISPR-based assays, nucleic acid sequencing and related reagents.
• Agent role requires USPTO Patent Bar; attorney role requires California or New York bar admission in addition to Patent Bar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in biotechnology.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the firm.
• Manage patent portfolios and conduct patent database searches.
