A law firm seeks an experienced Biotech Patent Agent to join its intellectual property team in Alexandria, VA. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on innovative biotechnology solutions.

Duties:

1. Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to biotechnology and life sciences.
2. Conduct thorough patentability assessments and provide strategic opinions on intellectual property matters.
3. Counsel clients on patent strategies, including licensing, enforcement, and compliance issues.
4. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and effectively communicate complex scientific and legal concepts.
5. Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes impacting biotechnology patents.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the intellectual property field, specifically in patent application preparation and prosecution.
2. Strong analytical and writing skills, complemented by superior academic credentials.
3. A technical background in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
4. Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for at least three years is mandatory.
5. An advanced technical degree is desirable but not required.

Education:
