Job summary

ManpowerGroup seeks a Lab Technician for a Johnston, IA team focused on plant breeding and biotechnology research. You will support a biotechnology group by handling tissue culture tasks, sterile processing, and analyzing results to advance novel plant breeding methods.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in biological sciences, with experience in tissue culture and aseptic work. Daily duties include sample processing, reporting, and coordinating culture activities, under supervision.

• Problem-solving skills to support research tasks and troubleshoot routine challenges.
• Attention to detail and the ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and strong organizational skills, with the ability to work well in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results supporting research team needs, including processing samples under sterile lab conditions
• Measure, image, and analyze experimental results to support research outcomes
• Coordinate sampling and prepare samples as needed for ongoing plant tissue culture work
• Execute plant tissue culture activities, including plant transformation, plant propagation, and analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed
• Maintain a safe work environment by using aseptic, sterile techniques and documenting experimental details in proprietary and standard software applications
