Job summary

Utah Tech University is seeking a year-round, full-time Laboratory Coordinator to support laboratory operations across the Biotechnology programs. The role involves cell culture work, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with faculty and students to ensure safe and productive labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or closely related discipline with hands-on mammalian cell culture experience.
• Master's degree in Biology or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in teaching or training in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with cell culture techniques, especially mammalian lines, preferred.
• Familiarity with safety standards in biology labs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand cell lines; weekend work as needed.
• Perform aseptic technique, passaging, cryopreservation, and thawing.
• Monitor and troubleshoot contamination.
• Support transfection, viral transduction, and cell-based assays.
• Prepare media and maintain lab documentation.
• Assist with viability assays, microscopy, and molecular analyses.
• Coordinate lab operations with faculty and other coordinators.
• Maintain equipment and SOPs; manage supplies and storage.
• Attend department meetings and support curriculum development.
