Job summary

Piper Sandler is seeking an Equity Research Associate to join our Healthcare Group, Biotechnology team in our New York, NY office. This role offers a chance to develop industry expertise while supporting marketing of research and investment ideas to our sales force and institutional investors.

As an associate, you will work with a senior analyst to build financial models, write reports, and participate in meetings with management and industry conferences.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Science.
• 1 year of Life Sciences work experience.
• 6–12 months of biotech equity research on the sell-side.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication.
• Outstanding quantitative and organizational skills.
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 86/87 required (or willing).
• Progress toward CFA a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, independent environment.

Responsibilities

• Research biotech companies and industry alongside a senior analyst.
• Create financial models and valuation analyses.
• Write company and industry reports with investment recommendations.
• Form relationships with company management through meetings and calls.
