Job summary

Meet Life Sciences is seeking a Chief Financial Officer in California to lead financial strategy as the company advances its clinical pipeline toward an IPO in the next 12–18 months.

The CFO will oversee IPO readiness, capital markets activities, investor relations and capital allocation, while building a scalable finance organization and ensuring public-company controls and governance. This is a high-impact role reporting to the CEO.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience spanning investment banking and biotechnology/pharmaceutical finance.
• Healthcare or life sciences IB experience with equity/debt transactions.
• Senior finance leadership in biotechnology, ideally clinical-stage.
• Demonstrated experience leading significant private or public financings.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting, audit requirements and public-company infra.
• Experience building and leading high-performing finance organizations.
• Ability to operate as both strategic CFO and hands-on executive.

Responsibilities

• Lead IPO preparation and execution with external partners.
• Build a financing strategy across private and public markets.
• Develop relationships with institutional investors, analysts, banks and the capital markets community.
• Own long-range planning, budgeting, runway analysis and capital allocation.
• Establish financial controls, reporting infrastructure, governance and SOX readiness.
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting organization.
• Provide financial leadership across strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities and potential M&A.
• Serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO, executive team and Board.
