Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate & Baystate Health seeks a statistician to support high-impact research in the Quantitative Methods Core. You will consult on study design, perform complex analyses, and contribute to grants and publications.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in biostatistics or related field, 3+ years of applied biostatistics experience, and strong SAS/R/STATA skills. Expect collaboration across clinical and health services research teams in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of experience in applied biostatistics in clinical, public health, or academic research.
• Strong programming skills with SAS, R, or STATA and ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead statistical analyses and consult with investigators on study design and interpretation.
• Develop and maintain reproducible analysis programs and workflows.
• Work with large real-world and administrative datasets (EHR, claims, registry).
• Contribute to grant proposals, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
• Provide methodological guidance throughout the research lifecycle.
