Activity Senior Statistician

Technical Expertise, Scientific Leadership and Strategy

Ability to perform the Study Statistician role with minimal supervision. Demonstrates strong statistical expertise with a good understanding of complex design of experiments and inference methodologies. Knowledge of Bayesian methods, Futility & Predictive Inference, Estimands, Missing Data, etc., is preferred.

Participates actively in matrix team meetings as required. Supports the design, analysis, and interpretation of studies, utilizing a wide range of statistical approaches and software to explore options. Authors analysis plans and prepares statistical inputs for key documents and presentations.

Contributes to the development of statistical strategies at the study level, which may be shared with stakeholders.

Anticipates potential problems related to assigned work or expertise areas and implements solutions proactively, seeking input from supervisors or managers as needed.

Compliance, Quality, and Governance

Applies standard processes to ensure deliverables are accurate, high quality, and meet timelines. Has extensive working knowledge of GxP, ICH guidelines, internal GSK processes, and external regulations where applicable. Conducts quality control of work produced by others under supervision.

Communication and Influence

Effectively communicates both orally and in writing, explaining technical approaches to non-technical colleagues and incorporating feedback to produce high-quality deliverables.

Collaboration

Works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams under supervision.

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in creating ADaM specifications and mock shells.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP).
  • Experience in Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials.
  • Experience with statistical methods including ANOVA, ANCOVA, Repeated Measures, and MMRM.
  • Experience applying advanced statistical methods.
  • Experience in R programming.
  • Experience with Bayesian methods, Estimands, handling missing data, and data simulation.
