Synergy BioResearch is a rapidly growing biospecimen services company focused on providing high-quality, regulatory-compliant sample collection, processing, storage, and analytical services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research clients. We serve as a strategic partner in supporting clinical trials, translational research, and drug development programs.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a part-time, remote Medical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor. This independent contractor will support the development of our biospecimen services program from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with biospecimen collection workflows, operational SOPs, and LIMS/QMS implementation, and will also contribute to client development and contracting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development:

- Assist in designing and launching biospecimen operational workflows and infrastructure.

- Provide subject matter expertise in biospecimen logistics, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

- Develop and implement SOPs for biospecimen collection, processing, storage (ambient, refrigerated, frozen, LN2), shipping, QC, and chain-of-custody documentation.

- Support the integration of SOPs into training and operational manuals.

LIMS and QMS Implementation:

- Lead or coordinate the selection and deployment of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Quality Information Management System (QIMS).

- Oversee system setup, data structure design, user workflows, and integration with operational processes.

Business Development:

- Collaborate with leadership to identify and engage potential clients (biotech, pharma, CROs).

- Assist in drafting proposals, marketing material, and operational capabilities presentations.

Contract and Site Agreement Development:

- Help draft and review sample-related agreements including MTAs, CDAs, service agreements, and quality agreements.

- Support development of site/vendor onboarding procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

- With a Degree in Bachelor of Science (B.S.), or experience in Medical Laboratory Technology

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in biospecimen operations, biorepository services, or clinical research settings involving human biospecimen management.

- Proven experience with SOP development and regulatory standards (HIPAA, IRB, GCP, IATA, CLIA/CAP preferred).

- Familiarity with biospecimen tracking systems, preferably LIMS and/or QMS platforms.

- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

- Experience working in startup or early-stage biotech environments is highly desirable.

- Must be eligible to work as an independent contractor in the United States.

Location: Remote (occasional travel may be requested but not required)

Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
