Job summary

The City of Manhattan is seeking a Biosolids Lift Station Technician to support safe, compliant operation of wastewater lift stations and biosolids farm, including preventative maintenance and diagnostic tasks. The role may involve land application of biosolids and assisting with related plant operations.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, equipment servicing, data collection, and ensuring regulatory compliance under EPA Biosolids 503. On-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Certification as Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Class I or higher, or ability to obtain within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on lift stations and Biosolids Farm assets.
• Monitor and report compliance with EPA biosolids regulations.
• Operate and troubleshoot SCADA assets and related electrical gear.
• Collect readings and maintain records of monitoring data.
• Be on-call for emergency troubleshooting and repairs after hours.
