Responsibilities

  • Clinical Education & Procedural Support: manage hands-on physician training and bioskills activities.

The Bioskills Lab Coordinator supports the day-to-day operation and growth of Forté Orthopedic Research Institute’s state-of-the-art bioskills laboratory. This hands-on clinical and operational role works directly with physicians, trainees, medical device representatives, healthcare leaders, and industry partners to deliver high-quality surgical education, procedural training, product demonstrations, technology evaluations, and research activities.

The ideal candidate combines strong clinical and anatomical knowledge with excellent organization, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills. The Bioskills Lab Coordinator must be comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment, managing multiple priorities, and adapting quickly to changing course and event needs. Weekend and before/after-hours availability is required.

As the Bioskills Lab Coordinator at the Forté Orthopedic Research Institute, this individual will provide white-glove service to our physicians, trainees, and customers.

Schedule: Applicant must be flexible and function effectively with constantly changing agendas/timing of activities. Weekend, before & after-hours (before 8am & after 5pm) availability required.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Education & Procedural Support: Support hands-on physician education, surgical training, and bioskills programs across orthopedic and related specialties. Prepare procedural stations, instrumentation, implants, imaging equipment, specimens, and other resources required for successful training activities.
  • Physician & Industry Engagement: Build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, trainees, medical device representatives, healthcare organizations, and industry partners. Provide responsive, high-quality support throughout educational programs, product demonstrations, and technology evaluations.
  • Program & Event Management: Coordinate end-to-end execution of clinical education and industry programs, including scheduling, client communication, specimen procurement, equipment rentals, facility preparation, event-day logistics, and post-event material processing and returns.
  • Clinical & Surgical Support: Work alongside physicians and industry representatives during bioskills activities in a surgical-support capacity, including preparation of instrument tables and procedural equipment and assistance with the operational needs of live training sessions.
  • Laboratory Operations: Manage daily laboratory operations to ensure the facility is safe, clean, organized, properly equipped, and ready for scheduled activities. Identify and resolve operational, logistical, and technical issues to keep programs running seamlessly.
  • Inventory, Equipment & Specimen Management: Maintain accurate inventory of instruments, equipment, implants, soft goods, and supplies. Coordinate equipment maintenance and service. Catalog and track cadaver specimens and ensure appropriate delivery, storage, preparation, documentation, and disposition.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain OSHA, facility, bioskills, and standard operating procedure requirements. Ensure appropriate handling and disposal of biohazardous materials and adherence to applicable safety and ethical standards.
  • Technology & Media: Operate and maintain laboratory audiovisual, streaming, imaging, and related technology, including MediaSuite, iSuite, video-streaming systems, and standard and mini C-Arms.
  • Business & Customer Support: Support customer relationships and growth initiatives by helping deliver revenue-generating education programs and creating a professional experience for physicians, trainees, and industry partners.
  • Research & Innovation: Support clinical research, product evaluation, and emerging orthopedic technology initiatives in collaboration with physicians, researchers, and industry partners.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a 1st assist, radiologic technologist, physician assistant, RN, medical sales representative, athletic trainer, or other similar clinical professions.
Education:
  • 4-year degree in a clinical position preferred.
  • Completion of a 2-year degree in a clinical care-related field may apply.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to maintain accurate records, calendars, inventory, and event documentation.

  • Working knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, imaging, and procedural workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning audiovisual, streaming, cloud-storage, and other technology platforms.
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
