Job summary

Quest Global in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned firmware engineer to design and architect UEFI BIOS solutions, collaborating with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration.

Responsibilities include implementing security features, optimizing firmware performance, troubleshooting BIOS issues, and leading customer discussions from the front. The role requires 5+ years in UEFI BIOS/firmware, C and assembly, x86/ARM, and familiarity with PCIe/USB/SATA. On-site in Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Embedded systems Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in UEFI BIOS/Firmware development.
• In-depth knowledge of UEFI specifications and implementation.
• Strong programming skills in C and assembly language.
• Experience with x86 and ARM architectures.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA, etc.).
• Understanding of system boot process and secure boot mechanisms.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

Required Skills (Technical Competency)

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Embedded systems Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in UEFI BIOS/ Firmware development
• In-depth knowledge of UEFI specifications and implementation
• Strong programming skills in C and assembly language
• Experience with x86 and ARM architectures
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA, etc.)
• Understanding of system boot process and secure boot mechanisms

Desired Skills

• Understanding of pre-boot environment, UEFI/Legacy BIOS or Linux BIOS
• Experience with coreboot or other open-source firmware projects
• Knowledge of UEFI secure boot and TPM implementation
• Familiarity with low-level debugging tools and techniques
• Experience with BIOS customization for OEMs

Pay Range: $75K- $85K

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Houston Texas US

• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
