Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a BIOS Engineer to research, design, develop and test BIOS for server products. The role requires a background in hardware engineering and proactive project management to deliver high‑quality software.

Responsibilities include BIOS development, Linux kernel work, and collaboration with engineers to optimize reliability and compatibility across desktop and server platforms.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 1 year of relevant low level software development experience preferred.
• 1 year of experience with Legacy BIOS code or UEFI code preferred.
• Strong background in C, C++ and/or Assembly is a plus.
• Solid understanding of PC hardware architecture, BIOS, and Linux is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop UEFI BIOS for desktop and server.
• Port BIOS to desktop, server board and workstation.
• Devise module codes for development.
• Provide engineering support to customers on BIOS issues.
• Verify BIOS system specifications.
• Manage project schedule from design phase to production.
• Test functionality and reliability and ensure product quality.
• Work on related Linux kernel development and device drivers.
• Study motherboard design specifications to plan reliability and compatibility.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to evaluate design specifications.
