Job summary

Azenta is seeking an on-site technician to manage preclinical and clinical samples at customer sites. You will follow SOPs, perform quality control, and coordinate shipments while maintaining strict chain of custody and data integrity in LIMS systems.

You will collaborate across R&D, ensure safety, and adhere to GCP/GLP guidelines, with responsibilities including temperature monitoring, inventory control, and timely communication with site leadership.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience handling preclinical and clinical samples preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Life Sciences or related field required/preferred.
• Ability to work with LN2 after training and handle radioactive materials per guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain clean, compliant workspace.
• Familiarity with GCP/GLP guidelines and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and follow policies, SOPs, GCP/GLP guidelines.

Job description

• Perform all functions related to an assigned customer-site project
• Follow SOPs, maintain communications, and receive and execute assigned tasks within timelines
• Receive and perform QC on samples
• Coordinate and triage shipments to appropriate departments and vendors
• Verify sample shipment receipt using paper forms or databases, maintaining chain of custody
• Work across R&D functional areas to triage incoming shipments supporting clinical and preclinical trial timelines
• Defrost and clean freezers, destroy samples as permitted, and return samples to inventory
• Coordinate with Azenta on-site leadership to anticipate customer needs
• Perform project tasks assigned by Azenta Customer Site leadership
• Serve as a REES on-call technician at least one week per month for temperature excursions
• Communicate with customer-site contacts to maintain relationships and gather intelligence about customer needs and problems
• Assist in resolving technical or operational problems
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety and universal precautions
• Ensure adherence to Azenta, BMS, and location safety policies and SOPs
• Follow GCP and GLP guidelines and applicable BMS policies and procedures
• Enter data into Watson LIMS, POLARIS, LabMatrix, and REES systems
• Assist with resolution, documentation, and tracking of sample and manifest issues across preclinical and clinical studies

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a related field
• 2-3 years of experience handling preclinical and clinical samples preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred
• Ability and willingness to work with LN2 after appropriate training
• Ability to work safely with radioactive materials and follow handling, shipping, and disposal guidelines
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work with potentially infectious materials
• Ability to maintain a clean work environment and follow universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens
• Follow GCP and GLP guidelines
• Adhere to Azenta, BMS, and assigned-location safety policies, procedures, and SOPs
