Role Description

The Biorepository Operations Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Norcross, GA, responsible for supporting daily operations within a high-compliance biobanking environment.

The primary responsibilities include inspection, testing, troubleshooting and operation of cryogenic service vessels and equipment.

• Testing mechanical and cryogenic freezers for functionality
• Maintain records and documentation pertaining to testing and operation of mechanical and cryogenic freezers, cylinders, and bulk tanks
• Be able to diagnose and identify leaks in piping and air lines
• Maintains equipment records and daily work logs.
• Utilizes environmental monitoring system to ensure facility and equipment are maintained within established temperature, humidity, and oxygen parameters according to procedures.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with operations teams to quickly resolve equipment failures
• Assigned on-call schedule for alarm response after-hours

Experience

• Experience in cryogenics and/or HVAC (desirable)
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, hand wrenches etc.) (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents (preferred)
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (faceshield,
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled production equipment, diagnosing controlrelated
• issues, and supporting operations (preferred)
• Background performing preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, component
• replacements (preferred)
• Understanding of basic thermodynamics (temperature and heat) (preferred)
• Previous experience following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) (preferred)
• Work experience in CAP, CLIA, or another regulated medical/clinical environment (desirable)

Skills

• Understanding of mechanical or cryogenic freezers
• Perform preventative & corrective maintenance on equipment and facility systems
• Experience with high pressure (1,000psi+) gaseous/liquid systems.
• Operate lifts, forklifts, and material handling equipment
• Ability to read, understand, and follow mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints
• Knowledge of hazardous systems
• Knowledge of pressure vessel system safety protocol and proper handling
• Detail-oriented, organized, and focused with superb dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team setting
