Job summary

The Planet Group seeks a Process Engineer II in Santa Monica, CA to support process development, optimization, characterization, and continuous improvement activities for cell therapy manufacturing. You will collaborate across Research, Process Development, Manufacturing, MSAT, and Translational Medicine to drive robust processes.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques, along with a background in biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory work supporting process development, optimization, characterization, and process improvement studies.
• Develop and execute process development studies to understand critical operating and performance parameters.
• Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for cell therapy products.
• Perform process analysis and trend process performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct statistical analysis and apply Design of Experiments (DOE) where appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

• MS degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer, or process development experience.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer, or process development experience.
