Job summary

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. in Glenview, IL is seeking an R&D Intern to join our team.

You will work in an industrial life sciences laboratory focusing on virus filtration, viral clearance, and bioprocessing technologies, taking ownership of a defined technical project under mentorship. This internship offers hands-on experience, development of data analysis and presentation skills, and exposure to safety and quality standards in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in biology/biochemistry/biotechnology/chemical engineering/biomedical engineering or related field.
• Completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate scientific documentation.
• Ability to research scientific literature and summarize technical information.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a defined research project focused on virus filtration or viral clearance under guidance.
• Research literature, industry practices, and emerging technologies to support objectives.
• Explore and propose experimental approaches to understand filtration performance.
• Plan, organize, and execute project activities per lab procedures and timelines.
• Conduct laboratory experiments under supervision following safety and quality standards.
